Sr. Product Manager

UNITED STATES - REMOTE /PRODUCT MANAGEMENT /FULL-TIME

Summary:

A SevOne Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the Product Life Cycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, competitive differentiation, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals.

Analyzes, defines and documents market driven product requirements

Writes User Stories including acceptance criteria

Prioritizes product requirements in alignment with Customer/Market needs and market window

Grooms Product Backlog with Engineering team to decompose stories in preparation for commitments for releases

Answers questions from developers to clarify user stories

Performs market analysis to ensure product has a maintainable competitive advantage

Performs competitive analysis to maintain the products distinct competences

Oversees product planning and execution throughout the product life cycle.

Gather and prioritize product and customer requirements

Define product vision and maintains a product roadmap

Work closely with cross functional teams engineering, development, product design, release management, Quality Assurance, documentation, support, sales and professional services to deliver customer outcomes.

Track market trends

Collaborate with customers and SevOne customer facing teams to define market needs and customer satisfaction goals.

Work closely with Marketing to amplify the product value to target markets and channels

Works under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment

Must maintain a laser focus on product success in the market

Attends scrum meetings including standups, retrospectives, and demos.

Collaborates with other product managers to clarify use cases, define requirements, and prioritize user stories across product backlogs.

Reviews documentation and releases notes for accuracy.

Demonstrate the latest iterations to customers (pre-release) and gather feedback.

Collaborate with development team leaders to commit releases for delivery

Ensure product aligns with overall company mission and goals

Qualification Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's (BA or BS) in business, computer science, or related field

Experience:

5+ years previous experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner.

May consider a candidate with Business Analyst, Technical Marketing, Professional Services, or Pre Sales Engineers experience in a related field who can demonstrate a solid understanding of Product Management disciplines.

Skills:

Required-

Solid understanding of the product life cycle and software development process

Experience with IT Performance Management tools and the customer ecosystem they integrate and operate.

Understanding of virtual infrastructure, cloud technology and/or software defined networking

In-depth understanding of Agile product development methodologies

Understanding of industry standards and best practices

Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office or Google Suite

Proficient user of Backlog Management tools (Jira, Rally, etc ) Candidate with experience using Jira is a plus.

Comfortable working with multiple teams, in-house and remote

Confident in preparing for and handling challenging business discussions

Able to build strong interpersonal relationships with, leadership, senior management, and internal and external stakeholders

Excellent teamwork skills

Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Physical Demands -The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

Extensive computer use

Hand and eye coordination for computer utilization, Hangouts

May require travel, at least 20% of the time to for internal and external meetings

Walking, standing for long periods of time may be required, especially when presenting or at customer sites, field, etc.

Continuous talking but more important continuous listening.

Position involves high stress due to the nature of responsibilities--tight deadlines, product launches, etc.

Working Environment: General office environment, work from home or a combination.
